- Shoulder is allowed to remain in, or close to, its comfortable natural resting position in relation to the body. No lifting: no slouching: no tightening. No matter what.
- Thumb is to be flexed at all times and its nail (flat plane) is not to be parallel with the line of the stick: the nail faces somewhat to the left as well as down.
- Bow-hold is maintained throughout the length of the bow although it is malleable, bendy, active, responsive, sensitive, resilient and yielding.
In down-bows the elbow always is rising and the wrist always is falling.
- In up-bows the elbow always is falling and the wrist always is rising.
- Movements tend to be started closer and closer to the fingertips as they become more rapid; closer and closer to the centre of the body as they become slower.
